For Prospective Graduate Students

EEB offers both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees and graduate students pursuing research-based degrees receive full financial support. We invite applications from qualified students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any facet of biology who are interested in graduate study in ecology and evolutionary biology. Students with unusual backgrounds who show a strong commitment to and potential for academic work in biology are also considered. Currently, the department has about 55 graduate students pursuing our three graduate degrees. These students come from throughout the U.S., and from Central America, Asia and Europe.

Acceptance into all of our graduate degree programs depends on a good match between faculty and student interests and admission requires the support of a major advisor. Prospective students are therefore strongly encouraged to initiate a correspondence with the faculty member(s) whose lab they are interested in as early as possible, preferably before completing the application process.

All members of the graduate faculty in EEB may sponsor students in any of our degree programs. Click here to meet the graduate faculty and learn more about their research programs.
