Insects

UConn EEB has a long tradition of excellence in entomology, from James Slater’s expertise in true bugs, Carl Rettenmeyer’s work with army ants (and their guests), Carl Schaefer’s many papers and books on Hemiptera/Heteroptera, and Eldridge Adams’ theoretical and empirical contributions to social insect population ecology. UConn is Cidada Central when it comes to up-to-date information about periodical cicada emergence! Check out David Wagner’s collection of beautifully illustrated guides to caterpillars and butterflies.
